Guest Star Tuesday, number seven

Sue at “Fair View”
Sweet, funny, and tack sharp, Sue writes about her life so far in series of chapters like a good book. Particularly interesting (at least to me) are her stories as a displaced Yankee being charmed by the South. And in between, she peppers her site with images of scorching hot men and a running Friday Fantasy feature.
My blog is really about my life growing up, gay porn (which is way better than straight porn because I prefer to see nothing but cock), gay comics and gay erotica which I write myself. Why am I into all things gay well that is another story my friends.
My parents divorced because my dad was a philanderer. But mom didn’t find out until she followed him when he left the house one day and found out herself. She threw him out on his ass when I was 13 and they divorced. I was pretty broken up about it since he loved me unconditionally. He rented a room in a house owned by a couple of guys and they were the first gay couple that I ever met. It was 1969.
She had verbally and physically abused me, my twin and my brother since we were little kids. But she had never done it in front of him. The last time she did this was when I returned after a summer selling bible books door-to-door in Athens, Georgia when I was 20. She angry that I didn’t stay in exactly the place she told me, because I didn’t feel safe, and it delayed our meeting by well over an hour. She blindsided me with a punch that threw me to the ground and cut my nose at Grand Central Bus Terminal in New York City. I felt completely humiliated. All of the adultness that I had gained during that summer away was taken from me in that moment and I swore to keep my eye on her from then on. It was 1976.
During the next two semesters, I had met a cute guy that I really liked named Sam, and we fucked like bunnies dated and planned to live together in my senior year. But that summer I had to go home again. I didn’t want to work for the bible books place because, trust me, once was more than enough. So, home I went. But I decided there were going to boundaries and ground rules this time. She was not going to run right over me.
I got a job as a chambermaid at a local hotel and liked it just fine. Everybody else was Puerto Rican and very happy. I loved to work in the laundry room folding the clean sheets and towels and to clean the rooms that were rented hourly. But, mom was not satisfied. Turns out I got home too early for her. She started getting on my ass to get another job too. I just didn’t know what to do. Did she think that jobs grew on trees? We argued and I went up to my room for some peace.
Next thing I know, I hear her charging up the stairs yelling like a wild woman “SUSIE! SUSIE!” To this day, the sound of feet stomping up stairs make me shudder.
I’m thinking what the fuck is it now? So she blasts my door open and hollers “DID’T I TELL YOU TO CLEAN TAKE OUT THE GARBAGE? I MEANT NOW!”
“Mom, please knock before you enter my room.”, I said calmly.
And that was it. Her fists went above her head and she lunged for me. There was no way I was going to be hit by her again. So I ducked and swerved past her and ran down the stairs and out of the house. I ran to the corner donut shop and called Sam to come rescue me. I told him that my mother went wild and had tried to attack me. So, I went to live with his father, Hershel, and stepmother, Wallis, in their house in Amityville where Sam was staying.
I got a job at Sunrise Mall at a bookstore which I could ride to on my bike and I loved because they wanted you to read the books so you could advise customers. I was happy as a clam. I had my man, I escaped my mom, I was living with nice people and I had a job I liked. I paid rent to Hershel, but it wasn’t much and he gave it all back to me at the end of the summer. He taught me to drive his Volvo and when I got my license, he gave me a Saab, but that was much later when I graduated and got a job and was still dating his son.
One of the few moments that Sam and I were home and not screwing, we just standing at the top of the stairs in front of our room, and our beloved hamster, Esther (named after the chemicals not the biblical character) was on her exercise wheel doing her thing, going round and round. Her wheel went squeak, squeak, squeak… We heard Hershel speaking to Wallis downstairs. He said “Oh gee, they’re at it again! Do you hear them Wallis?” Sam and I were mortified. They could hear us! We both looked at each other and flushed bright red.
“We have to go down there and show them they are wrong.”, whispered Sam to me. I nodded and we headed down the stairs. They looked up from where they where sitting with surprised faces. Sam said, “Um, that’s not us, that’s our hamster, Esther on her exercise wheel. It squeaks.” Then we both smiled innocently. But we moved our lovemaking to the bed across the hall that was not over Hershel and Wallis’ room and we sprayed Esther’s wheel with WD-40.

I commented on a post Sue wrote awhile ago about someone releasing a dog on her while she was selling books on her bicycle door to door. What a coward! It’s great to hear her voice here.
