For anyone who need to be reminded, people do what they do on their blogs because of a weird combination of "what they want to say and show" and "what they think other people want to hear and see". And sometimes both are the same. A social (or personal) blog is just an extension of the person writing it. In the end, I'm not sure what is the purpose of coming to a personal blog and criticizing a person's content. At least publicly. It's like calling out a friend in the middle of a party and loudly saying "god that makes you look fat!" As with real life friends, private constructive criticism is a completely different matter. I should add that this would be different when dealing with topical blogs about politics, science, culture, etc. Usually people there are presenting arguments about stuff and, so, are open to critique.
