Red Carpet

Red Carpet season is starting to gear up. Golden Globe nominations are out. Oscars are soon to follow.

I got an e-mail that was the icing on yesterday’s celebratory Jake’s-birthday-5000th-comment-day-off-work cake. It was notification that the blog has been nominated for Blog of the Year at Best Gay Blogs.

Things like this usually don’t mean all that much to me, but I will admit that with this being my last year, it would be kind of a cool send off to win. But, I know I won’t, if for no other reason than I doubt it’s statistically even possible. (And I won’t be campaigning. This is the last you will hear of it). So, I will simply find comfort in just being nominated.

As it turns out, I’m in good company. Four of my blog brothren (Brett- who is a competition junkie and I’m sure taking this very seriously; Dan - who is probably too busy to even take notice; Kelly- who, like me, probably just finds it a hoot; and Moby -who I doubt even gives a shit) are also nominated.

Until I found out I was nominated, I was ready to sell my vote to the deepest trench. Hell, I still might.

You never know, Helen Mirren might do the same for Meryl Streep.

Wow. The paparazzi will all over that red carpet!

I am trying to figure out the connection between all of us. Haven’t we all paraded around in some leather on our blogs at some point? An overabudance of sexuality and a barrage of teasing pics seem to be the key to being nominated for Blog of the Year.

The only person I know who can crank out more pics than me is that damn Kelly. I see Kelly has slimmed up just in time for the awards. That is just like her to try to steal the limelight and upstage us all in the tabloid celebrity pages. Hmpfh! ;)

I just hope when I win, Jake Gyllenhaal presents me with the award. That would be a jawdropping DRAMATIC moment if I ever saw one! Of course, my final words would be… “Ladies and Gentleman… Jake… Thank You for…” THUD! When I wake up from consciousness, I’ll have the strange sensation of floating towards a light. We’ll all know WHO did it too! LOL.

Quality will out. (I hope.) Good luck.

I looked at the latest list of nominees, and I saw Citizen Danger X. He was in the
gay bloggies, and provided many a beat off fantasy before he was eliminated.
The bloggies are in the last round now, and If you want to help out you could drop by, vote thumbs up for Craig, and thumbs down for the other two.

Oh geez… congrats on the nomination! Heh, you summed up you and other guys perfectly! Personally I’m baffled by how these nominations work - who votes, who chooses? Regardless, good luck!

Well, you keep talking about the end of the blog like you’re looking forward to it. I, for one, will be sorry to see you go. Yours is one of the two blogs I read by people I don’t know (Cooper’s is the other), and it’s great to read the posts of another small-town Tennessean who keeps up with the Vols and is thoughtful to boot.

Cute pic! Congrats on the nomination. Hope you win. Who’s doing your campaigning to keep you in the forefront of the voters’ minds? hehe

And win the Blog of the Year as well.

Merry Christmas LT…hope the bet for you in 2008.

You have come to know me so well. I’m flattered by it of course but blogging has never been about popularity to me. But, that is just me. A big congrats to all the nominees.

Btw, I’d vote for you! I too will be very sorry to see your blog go away.
