The first time I ever had it, I was heading down to Myrtle Beach. Our flight had been cancelled after four hours on the tarmac. We stayed in a dive motel because we weren’t smart enough to leap frog to the Marriott near LaGuardia. We drank beer, did shots, and ate chicken fingers. I thought I'd be doomed the next day but felt like a shiny quarter in a nun’s pocket. Our flight was early the next day. We decided to have breakfast at our connection airport (Spirit wasn't flying direct in those days). Rick said, "Are you finally going to at least try it?" Biscuits and gravy.
