Remember Florida State Representative Bob Allen?
The one who once sponsored a Bill called the “Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition Act” that would outlaw masturbation in front of another adult, even consensually, but was ironically arrested in July for allegedly offering to give oral sex to an undercover officer in a public restroom. While good ol’ Bob is against hand jobs, he apparently has no problems with head jobs. Otherwise it might have been called the “Lewd or Lascivious Act Act.”
Anyway, he is back in the news again. Although when he was busted (Bob. Not his nut…Or the officer’s, for that matter) a few weeks ago he flat out denied any wrong doing, he has now come forward with a defense.
A defense of something that he did not do? Eh, I’m nit-picking, I know.
To be fair, he has not come forward with his defense as much as his defense has come forward in the form of the release of a taped statement he made at the time of the arrest. According to the legislator, he feared for his safety. Evidently he felt he had no choice but to blow his way out.
“This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park,” Allen, who is white, told police in a taped statement after his arrest. Allen said he feared he “was about to be a statistic” and would have said anything just to get away.
Since he’s a white guy, he couldn’t exactly pull an O.J. and play the race card. So, I guess he played the the racist card instead.

Fear has become the excuse of our times. Fear of terrorism allows us to sacrifice civil liberties. Fear of homosexuality allows us to pass laws restricting gay marriage,state by state. Fear of immigrants prompts us to build a wall between the US and Mexico when the Berlin wall failure is all too well known. Now fear of being a crime victim causes someone to offer up$20 and some head. As I understand , this happened at 3:30 in the afternoon! As we all know, most black men are terrifying at that time of day.

Rep. Allen is a despicable person. What is it with people who can’t take responsibility for their own actions? This is just a variation of the gay panic defense.

I enjoy watching politicians, especially politicians, get what’s coming to them. The friggin’ hypocrisy in this world today astounds me. At least we know he’ll totally enjoy himself in prison, if he ever makes it there.

One thing: why the undercover cops? Why do they have to let a trick-attempt go down? Why don’t they just clear the restroom? It’s sad that lonely (or not lonely, just frisky), good-hearted men also get caught up in stupid, stupid stings.
