Florida, Florida, Florida

The National Championship matchup between Ohio State University and the University of Florida was on TV last night. Didn’t I already seen that show? I’m sure it was just three months ago that Florida manhandled Ohio State on the football field to win the National Championship. Oh, wait. I guess it wasn’t a rerun last night. This time it was basketball. Same schools, same title, different sport.

But, of course, it was the same old winner. The G-D Gators. For the second year in a row. In a twelve month period, they have one two National Championships in basketball and one in football. (The two biggest sports in college athletics. That’s like winning an Oscar and two Emmys in the same year. You know actress are sitting around cursing Helen Mirren right now).

Brett Cajun would tell me I should be thrilled that one of our sister schools from the Southeastern Conference took the national title. It’s like one of the family winning. If it was any other of the 12 schools on the conference, I would be jumping up and down. But not for the Gators. I just can’t do it. The grudge runs deep and wide.

Besides, it’s always “Florida this, and Florida that…Florida, Florida, Florida.” Well, when is it going to be Tennessee?

Plus, what makes sports fun is the unpredictablity (is that a word) of it all. Who wants the see the same team win all the time? That just gets dull.

By the way, Tennessee’s women’s basketball team is going for their seventh National Championship tonight against Rutgers. That’s not dull, that’s just fucking awesome. (And I’m not even a big fan of women’s basketball). Go Lady Vols!

The mood around these parts is definately subdued. The women’s final takes place downtown here tonight. I’ll be rooting for the Lady Vols. Maybe THIS is Tennessee’s time.

I’m a smart guy; I can’t figure out the marsha connection. Why Marsha? Marsha Marsha Marsha…. I don’t get it.

sausage and pepperoni pizza NEXT on American Idol!

Oh brother believe me, I “get” the Marsha connection. Marsha Brady represents all that is good and right and perfect in womanhood.
What taste, style and, may I say, joi de vivre. Notice please, for instance, the perfectly balanced sense of style which Ms Brady displays. Her 100% polycolored polyester scarf perfectly accentuates her polyester/rayon blend top, with it’s complex, and tantalisingly alluring acoustic pattern. Breathtaking, I must say.

Lady Vols…it’s the same school. Same pride. Different amount of money for the school, but it’s still a win. I hope they get it.

Shut UP, Florida! They played well, though, but still. Shut up. :-D

CONGRATS ON THE LADY VOLS WINNING THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! When Pat Summit was asked about the turning point this season, she mentioned the loss to LSU in the SEC Tournament. That almost brought a tear to my eye. I am soooo proud of Tenneessee and what they accomplished.

…and there were a LOT of lesbians in Cleveland for the game. A LOT!

  10. Chad Says:

Hey Blobby…were they dirty Ohio City/Tremont lesbians or uppity Forest Hills lesbians from the Heights?
