One Year

Today marks one year of posts on the LARGETONY Blog. If I posted every day, that is. The blog has actually been in publication for two years and seven months (as of yesterday), but it took this long to come up with 365 posts. So, maybe it’s better to say that today marks one year’s worth of posts.
Tucked in the archives is a year of random rants, sex, stories of Granny, humor, memories of my mama, hump day hunks, memes, Jake, and of course football (only four and a half months until the new season!).
In a way it’s kind of fitting that it took me more than two and a half years to come up with a year of posts. It mirrors the timing of football games. A game can take three or more hours even though it’s only one hour of actual playing time. (Just be glad I’m not as slow as baseball.)
I know of several blogs going about as long as I have that surpassed me long ago in posting. I’m often awed at their ability to go full steam like that and still haven’t shot their wads. It’s not that I have a hair trigger, I just prefer to mix it up a bit. Go a little slow for a while, pick up the pace enough to take you to another level, then bring it down again to where you think it just might be over, then hit you with it deep and powerful. Add a few twists and angles, maybe something you never experienced before, and hold off as long as I can. (Cigarette, anyone?
)
I’ve also seen blogs start later, post like crazy, then fizzle out. Maybe there is something to that story of the tortoise and the hare. Hopefully this tortoise will make it to the end. Like all blogs, this one will end one day. Actually, I already know when that day is. It’s still a ways off, but you all know how I am about order, so you shouldn’t be surprised I have set the date.
But, until that time I’ll continue to discuss the attorney, keep you abreast of Granny, try to ease off on football and Jake (I said try), and maybe do a meme or two.
In honor of post #365, I thought I’d pull out a few of my particular favorites (in no particular order) from the first #364. I’d be curious to know what your favorites (if you have one) have been.

You have a date? Why would you end it? Eh, it’s your choice. I just enjoy it is all. My favorite one? There’s many I’ve liked and Be Mine comes to mind.

Tee hee…the way I read the second paragraph…thought it said “Sex stories of granny humor.” I can’t stop giggling.
Keep going T, love your blog.

Tony–cogratulations on the ‘milestone’, and keep it up until the blog becomes a ‘millstone’. I’v only been reading for a short time, but reading whatever you come up with is enjoyable. It is reassuring to hear such a ‘good’ voice sharing his thoughts and every day occurrences. You seem to have found your place in the world and your sense of wonder, awe, and compassion for the earth and its creatures is heartwarming. I wish you all the best with life’s twists and turns and look forward to reading whatever you have to share with us. Happy Blog Anniversary!

My favorite post isn’t that long ago, and it’s right before I became a regular visitor: The one where Granny confused you with her husband right before dinner. Your hands were covered with paint and she wanted to take care of you and you took care of her with making dinner.
steak. Potato (removed pulp to have in omlet for breakfast), and mushrooms and onions. NOt bad for a monday. I got a nice haircut today.

Some posts have struck me more than others, but I don’t have a favorite. All of them are good. I liked the letter to your mom, “Be”, the story about your daddy, granny playing the bills, hitting you over the head with a broom, and caring for your hands. The stories were great. The orb was especially nice as was elf porn. I even liked you cheering on cock. The one about gay marriage was especially touching.
Like I say, I like them all. You’re different, Tony. A brilliant writer and a wonderful man. The date that you close down your blog will be a sad one for me. I like having you be a part of my life, no matter how much or how little.

I don’t think you’ve written my favorite one yet. It’s the one where you meet the man of your dreams and spend your lives together. I dunno, maybe you’ve met him already.
But in the meantime, I am partial to the Sweet By and By. I also like reading the ones that tell about your life at work, like the one young guy that you thought might be gay.

I can’t remember the title of the post, but my favourite is the one where you danced with your granny. The sweetness of that post, and the love imbued within it, was tangible. It filled my eyes with tears.
Congratulations on your “year” of entries. I know many of us feel larger of spirit through knowing you.

Nice… your blog is a year old even though technically its been around for over two years. Wouldn’t it be great if we all aged like that? All your posts are great but If I had to pick a few, my favourites would be “Be” because its sweet, “idon’tpod” because it killed me with laughter…iDouche (lol) and “Bibbity-Bobbity” because some fairytales need to be made fun of. Keep up the great work!

Tony…
Your posts are like Lay’s Potato Chips–you can’t like Just One. They are ALL magical.
I do recall the post wherein you told the significance of the Tennessee Waltz and its meaning to Granny. I remember that I commented that Granny was a fancy lady who married your grandfather to get off with his furs. You shared my comment with her and she laughed.
THAT post was special to me, because I reached across the miles and made your Granny laugh. That made me happy.
Love to you Both…

Hell, I’m pushing a 1000. Damn I talk too much.
I’m not sure mine will end. It may go off line or become private at some point however, journaling my life has become an integral part of my self-analysis and growth. That said, I’m not sure what the future holds so no promises.
If and when you go, you will be missed!
