I know I’m starting to look like an obsessed fourteen year old girl. But, before you all get together and stage an intervention to ship me off to rehab and GA (Gyllenhaalics Anonymous) I just had to do one more post about Jake. I can’t get him this out of my mind.

A few people have commented or e-mailed me about how good Jake’s arms looked in the sleeveless dress on SNL. True that. In fact, it’s amazing how good he looked in a dress, period. While he is not a huge man, he’s not a wispy little guy either. But, his body has a sort of athletic androgyny that let him straddle that masculine-feminine line. It was a man’s body for sure, but you could buy that he was a muscular girl for at least the length of the skit.

But every time I watched this clip (which I can’t stop doing because it just cracks me up…and because it’s Jake), I have a deja vu. It really seems familiar. I have never made him wear a dress when we role play in the bedroom, so what is it? Then it hit me: those arms, those deltoids, the sassy blackness….it’s Angela Bassett as Tina Turner in “What’s Love Got To Do With It.”

So now the question is who will play who in whose biography movie? Will Jake play Angela in her story or will Angela play Jake in his? Probably Jake will play her. I just somehow have trouble seeing Angela Bassett being convincing as the bottom in the “filming of ‘Brokeback’”segment of “From Oscar to Tony” (that’s the title of his story).
