Mailbox Monday

Yeah, I know it’s not Monday yet, but Monday is coming. Monday will mark the beginning of a new year and the beginning of a new regular feaure here at the blog. You all know how, with my obsession with order, I like to begin new things at beginning of months, weeks, and years. With all three happening in a few days from now, how can i resist starting a new feature? I realize that that with Monday being a holiday, it technically won’t be the beginning of the work week like most Mondays, but if you work in a retail store it might be. Plus, I needed something to replace Hump Day now that it has run it’s course. (I still can’t believe I made it a whole year doing that.)

Part of the point of the regular features is that it makes me feel obligated to post something and often helps jump start other posts. Hump Day started to get a little laborous because I was always trying to find another way to say the same thing. I’m feel like I’m pretty good and pretty creative in the sack, but I’m not sure I know 52 ways to do a guy. At least not without actually being in the process. A sculptor ain’t gonna make art without some actual clay in his hands, you know.

One of the reasons that I sometimes fall off on posting is that because as much as I write to express myself, I still want to write something that you are interested in reading. I’m not fooling myself. I do care whether people read (although I don’t care if you don’t agree with what I post), otherwise I wouldn’t post it online. And often I decide that whatever I was considering a post on would put most of you to sleep. Believe me, I know I run a risk of cancelleation everytime there is a football post.

So, I figured I would, at least once a week, write about something that I know a reader(s) wants to read about. It’ll help me discover some things about you and help you discover some more things about me. Therefore, Monday, January 1, 2007 will be the first Mailbox Monday.

So, if you you have a question or if there is something you want to know, just e-mail me through the link at the top of the sidebar.
Now, I do have to lay some ground rules.

  • I do not promise to answer every e-mail that comes my way. I will pick one a week. If I get several that I want to post about in a week, I will stockpile them and use them as I need them.
  • For my own privacy and the privacy of people I know, particularly my Granny, there are some personal things I flat out will not tell you.
  • I’m not going to tell the specific details of sexual encounters. I will probably give you the when, where, and sometimes who, but never how.
  • I will not say or do anything against another blogger. If you have been around here a while, you know I have no interest in blog drama and won’t tolerate it.
  • If you have a question or suggestion for a post, send it by e-mail. Don’t put it in the comments sections. Comments sections are for commenting on the posts.
  • Don’t get offended if I don’t choose your question. It may be because I have already posted about it or something similar; it may not spark something in me to write about; it might be something I don’t have an opinion on or wish to talk about. Also, I want to post from as many different people as possible. And remember, there are only 52 weeks in the year.
  • Before you send something in, you might want to check the 100 Things Pt 1 and Pt 2 posts, or any of the meme posts to see if I have already covered it.

If anybody has got anything to kick things off, fill my box. I need to make the first post in four days.

This is a great idea! I’m going to havet to go back and read your info to make sure I don’t duplicate stuff that you have already posted here. :)
