My friend Kelli just wrapped a production of it as Effie (Jennifer Hudson's character from the movie; Jennifer Holliday's original, Tony-winning role on Broadway) and ROCKED HER FACE OFF!!!! I'm excited to see it. I think they're keeping it close to the play. I couldn't stand seeing Beyonce get more screen time just because she's Beyonce. The play has TWO leads - Dena and Effie. I hope the movie does that too. Also, Patrick, eh? Heh heh heh. Also, heh heh heh @ Nick's question. We talked about that not too long ago. The video? Wow. I hope that was a prank. 'Cause, wow! Movie versions usually aren't quite as good though, but I'll wait to see it before I make any definitive comments in some derrogatory manner... hehe If you ever get to the "C" movies, be sure to watch Camp... there are a few songs from Dramgirls in it... and a rather attractive young man too... and I'm not just saying that because I went to high school with him and saw him in his underwear at least once a week (no, not in THAT way... if he were packing as much as you, I probably would've though! lol) Oh dear…. that’s one reason to avoid hottubs… lol
