Weekly Reader 1

For some reason it’s always hard for me to come up with posts on Saturdays (not that I’m all that successful the rest of the week, either.) But I think fewer people tend to read on weekends, anyway. But, looking at my stat counter, there’s still plenty of people coming around between Friday and Monday, so I guess I should attempt to give you something.

Saturday is the perfect day to talk about football, of course. But I’d like ya’ll to come back on Monday. And I’ve been very good. I haven’t made ya’ll suffer through a football post in two weeks. Even with two Vol wins (last week against Marshall, 33-7, and today against Memphis 41-7).

And what will I talk about on Saturdays once football season ends in January? (Yes, there’s very strong possibility that you will hear about it until then.) So, I’m going to be completely lazy and use other people’s blogs as source material. I figured I’d just share with you some of the things I have run across in the last week while reading blogs. The beauty of this is that it may introduce you to a blog you are not aware of. That’s my favorite thing about blogging..the connectivity.

So here’s some things that were out there this week:

  • Homer aims his flashlight at the Conservative Closet, sharing a clip from The Daily Show. I love anyone who loves The Daily Show. If I ever got married, The Daily Show would be written into the vows.
  • Chad Fox learns that “the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.” And the Lord may just have a wicked sense of humor.
  • Knottyboy cooks up Rice on a open flame and the Rice gets “served.”
  • Kenneth shares transcripts from Washington’s latest hit: The Foley Follies.
  • Dan airs another funny podcast where he and his co-host share witty banter (although I only get 70% of the references, I still laugh), and play “Name That Blogger” with guest BrettCajun.
  • Jay stirs up the Melting Pot.

If you all like this little digestive track, I’ll try to make it a regular thing. Who knows, you may be the next Lemmiwinks to make it through.

I’m not sure you could see it, but I did a full split in mid air while waiving my pom-poms when I cheered, “GO VOLS!!!”

I doubt that I’d get honorable mention, and it’s all very well, of course, but I’d rather hear about what is going on in your neck of the woods — UT football, work, Gran, RJ, J*, YOU– I’m just sayin’

ok. to be fair, i have probably nothing interesting to say in my blog anyway. but that is why it is subtitled ’stuff & nonesense’

All that matters is that you find enjoyment in the taks at hand. And yes your right…some of us might just learn about another blogger out there!

These are great references - and again, I’m flattered that our little ‘ole podcast gets a mention. Let me know if you want to be a guest - Jimmi and I would love to have you…!

Actually, I like the idea of a “Saturday Digest”. I wouldn’t have known about or visited Dan’s site and I’m glad I did. I keep forgetting that you mean football and not futbol.

  8. Curtis Says:

Oh alright. I’ll admit that I was wrong and this was a good idea after all. I liked the link to Kenneth. So, thanks, Tony for turning me on to something new.

I like this idea. Keep it up.
