Socket To Me
I got an e-mail today:
Hey Tony,
I don’t know if you are aware, but you were mentioned in Cybersocket Magazine for August.
I’ve never seen or heard of Cybersocket Magazine, so no, I was not aware. But now I am. I’m in print. And I’m not even an A-list blogger. Ain’t that a kick?
The person who sent me the e-mail explained that the magazine has a thing called “Blog Bits” where they put an excerpt from blogs along with the URL of the blog. And this month they have an excerpt from little ol’ LARGETONY Blog. Okay, excerpt is probably an exaggeration. The way he explained it, it’s more like a blurb. Just a bit. I guess that’s why they call it blog bits. The blurb came from this post.
I know this is not a big deal, but it’s kind of cool to know that something I wrote, even just a little bit of it, is printed in a national magazine. Even in a magazine that I have never heard of. But that’s life on the blogging D-List.
I found Cybersocket’s website, but they don’t seem to have the “Blog Bits” listed in their online issue. Okay….so maybe I’m more like G or H-list.
I am curious to see what it looks like, and exactly what they selected for a blurb, though. Have any of you ever seen that magazine or know where to find one? If so, I would really appreciate it if you could scan the “Blog Bits” page and e-mail me a copy. Come on, socket to me.

Tony, although I couldn’t find the ‘Blog Bits’ part you mentioned, I found you listed alphabetically in their (Cybersocket) Home Pages category …. page 3, # 60 – Large Tony

Thank goodness it seems to be a big ‘mo magazine… otherwise, with the particular quote they lifted, there might have been a large number of very confused people checking out your blog… hehehe…

Congrats honey. It’s nice to see that your work here, your words and your cheek
haven’t gone unnoticed. I’ve always noticed your cheek[s]. As firm as a granny smith and as juicy as a Georgia peach…all that’s missing is a place at the ‘table’ and a napkin.
