Penguin? Koala? Rooster?

inkblot.jpg

When people first see the LargeTony logo, a lot of them ask, “Is that what I think that is?” Which makes me respond, “I don’t know. What do you think it is?” It’s almost like one of those ink blot tests that psychiatrists and guidance counseler give to see how your mind works. I’ve had someone think it was a penguin, one wondered why I have a Koala bear for a symbol, a lot of people see a “T,” and even more see a rooster (only that’s not the word they used…the pervs. :-) ) It’s open to interpretation. It’s all in how you see it.

I thought it might be fun to see how some of you interpret the logo. Not interpret what it is, so much. (I mean it is a “T” and a rooster.) But interpret it visually. Like how I interpreted it as an ink blot, for example. (Which was easier than I thought. I just kept clicking on effects until it got messy).

Eight weeks from today, on September 1, the LargeTony blog turns two years old. The original plan was to have the travelling T-shirt back in my hands after being marked by about thirty blogs studs over the course of the year. Well, it hasn’t gone exactly according to plan. It got bogged down for a little while, but it is moving again, so rather than cut the trip short I’ve decided to keep the shirt moving as long as it takes. I’ve been trying to come up with some other way to mark the second anniversary (I can be such a sentimental fool sometimes) and now I have found it.

So, in honor of the upcoming second anniversary of the LargeTony blog, I proudly announce the LargeTony Logo Contest!

No, it’s not a contest to re-design the logo. I’m pretty damned happy with what I’ve got. (I like the logo, too. ;-) ) The contest is to use the LargeTony logo in some creative way. So, get out your Sharpies, tell your Mom to buy you a box of elbow macaroni, and bust out the BeDazzler. Let your creative juices flow.

Seriously though, I don’t want to put any kind of restrictions on what you do or by what method. You can do drawing, painting, crafty shit, computer graphic, use it in conjunction with some other visual…the possiblities are endless. There are only three rules: 1) Use the LargeTony logo and 2) Make sure that you can tell it’s the LargeTony logo 3) Create something that can be posted, or a picture of it can be posted, in a gallery here on the blog.

And there will be prizes. Yes, prizes! I’m going to come up with different categories (like most humorous interpretation, most creative, sexiest interpretation…stuff like that) and the winner in each category will receive an official Large Tony Logo T-Shirt (now in black!). And best of all, all you readers will get to vote!

I still have details to work out but I wanted to give you creative and imaginative types some time to start thinking. But I can tell you that the deadline for all submissions will be on August 18 (six weeks from today).

This has the potential to be a lot of fun. Anybody who reads the blog can take part (not just other bloggers) and I hope lots of you will. Look for all the specifics sometime after the weekend.

In the meantime, click here for a good-sized black and white copy of the logo for you to use as a starting point.

If I were to paint your logo on my ass and then use my ass as a gigantic stamp on people’s cars at the local supermarket here in Thayne…would that be bad? I might not get the pictures I’d want to send you from my Afton jail cell.
    Mwah,

Does the best use of the LT logo win a date with you? If so, I’d be in.

Oh Please….we know BrettCajun loves contests! The trick is to whoop his ass! I hope I HAVE SOMETIME TO BE CREATIVE!. I already have a great idea in mind but with school and then vacation the first week in August, not sure where time will leave me.

If I were smart i’d give the idea to anybody but Brett…HEHEHE!

Anyway love the 2 year anniversary idea and I still want to sign that darn T-shirt. Will it make its way to southern California again?

As for your current logo, I would have said it looks like a ‘T’ on first seeing it. Once I got to know a bit more about you through your blog and fellow ‘blog’ readers such as Brett and Moby, I guessed what it was intended to be right off the bat, and the middle component is stretched just right!!!;-)
