Checking My References

Even after doing this whole blogging thing for a year and a half, I’m still fascinated by the way the whole world wide web / internet thing works. I mean, it still fucks with my head a little to know that here I am, just some guy in the hills of Tennessee, and people are finding out about this blog (let alone actually coming back sometimes.) Almost all of us have that list in the sidebar of blogs and websites that we either enjoy or think you should know about. On some blogs, being on that list comes with strings attached (and that sort of thing pisses me off, but I’ll save that rant for another day), but for the most part it’s just us bloggers showing each other some unconditional love.

Recently I discovered just how unconditional it can be sometimes. I was looking over the list of URLs that refer visitors to this blog. Most of them are from the very blogs you can find in my own sidebar. But then I also found some that I was not aware of…blogs that were as new to me as my blog is to many of you. So, since they helped some of you discover me, I thought I’d give the rest of you a chance to discover them. I haven’t had a chance to check them all out yet, but I’m not the type to tell you what you will or will not like. So check them out and decide for yourself. If you find something like, tell them Tony sent ya! :-)

Now, I can’t finish this post off without telling you about a special new discovery. Well, it’s not a discovery, since she told me about it, but my buddy Sue has started blogging to. If you read this blog very often and read comments, you know of Sue. She is, as far as I know, the only female to regularly take a look at my ramblings. The was Melissa for a while, too. But we seem to have lost her. (If you’re out there Melissa, we’d love to hear from you!) Anyway, Sue is a regular reader/commenter and has beem very thoughtful and supportive of this blog. She also tells some of the funniest jokes I have ever heard. She’s got a really cool blend of classy woman and down to earth no-bullshit regular gal. She has published a blog that is excerpts from a fictionalized autobiography that she is working on. She’s only been up a week and already sending traffic my way.

Whether she sends me traffic or not, I think all of you should get to know Sue. So, without further ado, check out FAIRVIEW Sue.

I know what you mean about the whole internet thing. It STILL amazes me and if it had been available back in the 80’s when I was discovering who I am I think my life would have been way diffrent.

As for blogrolls…I just wanted to say I am honored to be listed on yours. I love reading your blog and discovered you through blogrolls of other guys! Keep up the good work buddy!

Alas, here I am after a long silence. That’s just a little too dramatic, even for me. I’ve been here, Tony. Wandering in now and then, but didn’t want to bother any of you with nothing to say. I’m still here…still trying to adjust to “southern” life. Most people would think a more layed back life would be easy to adjust to, but I have found it extremely difficult to fit in here in Georgia. Ok, I’m gonna get out of here for now. Glad to see you are well.

Oh Tony, You are too sweet. Thanks ever so much!

Dude! I found your twin brother!! hahaha this is so funny.
I from Chile and when I saw your blog and your picture i though you were just like this chilean actor! But dude… you look so alike, and for more coincidence he also lost both of his parents and his nickname (Manguera) refers to a certain part of his body that may be similar to yours. I know this may seem crazy but you have to visit this web page, http://escena.ya.com/gonzalowebsite/ , it’s like a fanclub website

I hope you tell me what you think, i might be wrong but you be the judge!

Hey Tony, thanks for mentioning my blog. I’ve been an avid reader of yours for months now (accessing your site everyday and going through the archives). Your character emanates from every post and I truly admire you for it. -Eon

Blogs are a wonderful wonderful thing. Just when you think you’re going completely out of your mind, someone, half a world away, goes and independently confirms it. It’s a good thing when others articulate what one has yet to develop a vocabulary for through isolation of one form or another. I sometimes benefit vicariously through the considered perceptions of others. I sometimes just have fun reading them. If there had been blogs back in the Jurrasic, when I was but a pup, I don’t think I’d be in the secure wing of a correctional facility AT ALL.

Blogs are a great thing. I don’t know what it is about them, I am able to be more open than with some of my friends. Yes there have been some crazies, but it is such a wonderful outlet. BTW - I found ya through homer

hey! glad to know you’ve already got some cool chica supporters, but just to let you know, this queer girl from san francisco has been reading you for a while now, and likes your thoughts enough to keep coming back for more each time you post. =)

I’ve never commented before but I’ve been reading you almost daily for about 6 months. I love your writing style. There is a total lack of pretentiousness and arrogance in everything you write. Your sincerity and honesty rings through and that’s what keep me hooked.

Oh, and I also think you’re HOT (body, mind and soul).

I’m merely four months into the blog scene. But I can relate, Ant’ny.

There are times I want OUT. The need to make a crack - one hopefully on a Defamer level - too often lately feels like an absurd burden. Makes me wish I’d begun blogging along your lines: observation, real-life accounts, and a genuine niceness.

Aw, shit. Why am I whining? It’s my call, after all.

    Anyway. Tennessee ROCKS.
