Twelve Days Begin With Ten

December is here and Christmas is just around the corner. In honor of the season I’m going to attempt a series of posts with Christmas holiday themes. My first idea was to do a post a day up until December 25. Sort of like a written advent calendar. But twenty five posts without missing a day? Me? Who am I fooling? So instead I’m shooting for more of a “Twelve Posts of Christmas.” I still gotta bat .500 to reach that by Christmas, but I’m up for it.

To kick things off, I stole from Jimmy at Wonderboy. He did this list on his blog. He didn’t tag me to do it. I out and out stole it. Stole it like a pool boy’s virginity (18 plus, of course.) I’m not going to tag anyone else because I used all my tag credits with the T-Shirt thing. But I encourage anyone else who wants to do it on their on blogs to go right ahead.

The Holiday Ten

Instructions: Copy and paste the questions to your blog (with your answers, not mine).

One. What is your favorite holiday movie?

A Christmas Story. (”You’ll shoot your eye out!” has more meaning to me in the last year than ever. And get you minds out of the gutter. It’s nothing like that.)

Two. What is your favorite holiday song (title and artist)?

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas (I think it’s Judy Garland. Right?)

Three. What’s the best holiday gift you were ever given, and why?

A toy stuffed dog I got when I was five. I don’t know if it’s necessarily the best gift I ever got, but it’s definitely the one that I couldn’t bear to part with. I slept with that thing probably until I was about twelve when it was taken away from me. (I was told that the stuffing was a source of my allergies, but I never believed that. Still don’t.)

Four. Do you have a special someone to kiss at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s?

Just my Granny. It’s not that kind of kiss. But she’s damned special.

Five. Name of your favorite reindeer?

Blitzen. He sounds like he’d be the big athletic one. Like me.

Six. Favorite Holiday food?

Ham with a glaze made from mustard and brown sugar.

Seven. Snow day — cuddle by the fire, or hand me a snowball?

Snowball. But later we can cuddle to make you feel better after being pelted with snowballs.

Eight. What was your New Year’s resolution for this year? Did you stick to it?

I don’t really make resolutions, but I did hope to hit 200 lbs solid. And I did…for a little while.

Nine. Is there really a Santa Claus?

Not since Wal-Mart ran him out of business.

Ten. Present, or stocking stuffer?

Present. Unwrapping adds to the surprise. That’s why board shorts are better than bikinis, too.

“A Christmas Story” is by far the best ever Christmas movie. I watch it every year at least a couple of times.
I don’t believe in making New Year’s resolutions. If I am going to stop or start doing something, I’ll do it NOW. Waiting for a certain date is too much of a loophole for this recovering alcoholic. By then, I will have found a reason not to do it.

It’s a Wonderful Life is my favorite Holiday movie of all time - I cry like a little girl every damn time.

Ugh, #10, I hate banana sacks. Board shorts are just sexier, because of the mystery involved. Plus I like tan lines. OH yeah and I’m doing the meme.

And as far as you stealing…………..Dude, we’re going to have a little talk about that!

I LOVE “A Christmas Story”! Hehehe.. I was thinking of showing that to my kids in class today, but I figure they’ve all seen it about a million times already :).

Oh BTW, my blog doesn’t have a more Hawaiian feel to it because I know nothing about webpage creation :)
